Manitoulin bound

Ginger with the rides
Haven't had too many good reasons to post up until recently. Jeff finally bought a bike, and I finally got to ride with Ginger. This quickly led to a trip to Sudbury, which then turned into a trip to Manitoulin Island. We packed up and rode with little sleep. Just getting to Sudbury (Hanmer) was a task. We packed to camp, and well team dilly dally never actually camped. We stayed at Jeff's and enjoyed a random metal band at a nearby pub, then once in Manitoulin we settled to stay at an Inn where would could enjoy some drinks with locals, as well the Stanley Cup Finals were on tv. Great trip. Just not enough time to get it all out of the system. Thanks to Ginger for getting behind the lens on the very few photos we shot. I can't believe I brought a camera and only came back with this. Never again. More updates soon.

Happy bday Jorden and Ginger

Gordy and the wheel jam of death at L'Orignal. Shot on my t3i with Chit's 10-20mm wide lens.

Happy birthday Jorden and Ginger. Don't know what dates or how old you guys are. I don't have Facebook and can sooner remember NHL pro's stats. But I don't love you guys any less. Here are some  classics of Ginger and more from an NYC/Philly/NJ trip we took in 2008. With the crashed hard drive I was extremely lucky to come across this cd with the trip photos (shot with the old 40D) I had burned for Chris way back when, but forgot to give the disc to him a thousand times. My fav part of that road trip with Jeff, Ginger, and Prashant, was Philly. It had amazing street and really felt like a true adventure with new things to ride around every corner. The only thing we mapped out were those cities. Nothing else. It was get in the car and go. A proper bmx road trip. Hope to go back someday. Do people ride street anymore though? And Hey, that trip made a lot of footage for Hate This. 90% of ginger's part was from this trip. Dude shredded it up road fools style. Won't be a ton of updates coming up here. People got lame for Hallowe'en, so nothing there to share. And I am off on a double knee surgery for the next good while. It's going well. hopefully I can be riding for Feb or so.

Happy birthday guys!

North Carolina roadtrip

4x4 jeep life
Long overdue update. I have been super busy and unmotivated to update this blog as I am still heartbroken from losing my hard drive of my life.

Anyway, enough about that. Earlier this summer myself, Jeff, Chitaroni, Jorden, and Nick Stupich decided it was time. Time to go see Roland, Shelley, and Rev in their new home in Kuri Beach, North Caronlina. It's not too far from South Carolina and it would be a decent drive. Jorden and myself got in my CRX and the other three guys got gay together in the Honda Fit. It was a dreadful drive to get there, but you know we laughed so much. I might fly their next time, but I wouldn't take back the way we did it. Turns out Roland lives in paradise. Pura Vida in Kura Beach. Place was awesome and the LaBrecque's were great hosts. We surfed, off roaded, camped, drank, swam, drank some more. We then made out way to Greenville in hopes of riding bmx history. We road the Animal House. I didn't enjoy the 22ft tall ramps personally, but everyone else shredded it up. Roland came out of retirement for the trip to throw down some final bangers! Guy is a fantastic human. We then got to the famous outdoor park Jaycee. Place is amazing and we had some fun. I can hardly remember what happened after that. We rode some crazy concrete park in Virginia somewhere, then we stayed in some hotel in Washington. We ate burgers, drank in our underwear, and stunk the place up. One more great memory for when I am old and decrepit. Or older and decrepiter (spelling?). Thanks to everyone for making the wonderful roadtrip happen, especially Roland and his family.

Most photos done with Canon T3i with the Tamron 18-270 lens and the Opteka Fisheye. POV shots were with the go pro.

Check back really soon for a few Costa Rica trip updates!

almost pool season?

I won't say no to a good pool session. But facts are facts, and pretty much nobody is going pool hunting without Jeff. Jeff ain't here. That means I ain't riding pools this year. Here is a quick look of some of the guys "shralping pools" as it was commonly referred to a few years back. That was a great year. Thanks to everyone's kean eye and Jeff's motivation. I realize that last part is an oxymoron.
Jeff shreds, excuse me, shralps the meadowlands pool. When full of water this was a frequent illegal swim hole as well with a really fun diving board and safely deep section

Mr. Freeze

Winter is upon us and that means indoor riding, road trips, la belle province, more hockey, woodstove heat, and ski hill madness. This winter will hopefully be the best one yet. We have already done Woodward, which was great. A nice get away for a good price. Only thing that trip was missing was more time to recover and ride more. These trips indicate either one of two things for me; I am truly getting old and it's catching up ever so quickly, or I don't ride enough to be used to a bit of abuse. Here is some more randomness from the past 2 years. Le Taz has some great new ramps and the box jump finally works. Seriously, get ready for the best winter yet! Kijiji yourself until you have gear for every sport and activity possible.

hard drive randomness

Here is an assortment of random photos from the 'ol hard drive. I have to mention Papanack zoo. It's located near Plantaganet on highway 17. It's seriously the best zoo I have been to. They pride themselves on donations and animal rescues. The place is really inexpensive, never crowded and has the best animal lineup. At one point they had the only wolverine in captivity as far as I know. They had to put titanium fencing like 8ft underground, otherwise he could potentially escape. They seriously have it all. And they have a great daily itinerary for the animal feeding. DO go to this place. Don't be stupid. Get off your stupid phone or facebook for a few hours and go there next spring. Right after the snow melts, the animals are very lively as it is not too hot. The animals here are visible and well looked after. This place makes the Toronto Metropolitan zoo look like a war camp from WW2. PLUS, you don't have to walk 8km's to see all the great stuff. BEST ZOO around by far. Anyways, lots more on the hard drive to come. These were all shot with Canon 40D. Speaking World Wars, wear a poppy at least today. It's the least you can do for the freedom you have. Thanks vets; I wouldn't exist without you!
How close have you even been to a lion? Did you even see one at the Metropolitan zoo? Doubt it
